He is used to doing his talking in front of the camera but this weekend, Sanjeev Palar will fulfil every boy's dream when makes his racing debut for Proton Axle Racing Team in the Asian Touring Car Super 1500Max Challenge or 1500Max for short at the Sepang International Circuit.

The 1500Max is a new category in Asian Festival of Speed's (AFOS) and is a competition for normally aspirated cars below 1599cc, such as the Honda Jazz, Peugeot 206, Toyota Vios, Proton Gen 2 or Saga, Suzuki Swift, Chevrolet Aveo and the like.

The presenter of StarSports' Engine Block is not one to shirk away from a challenge and expects the ride of his life over the next two days.

Not even a minor crash on Wednesday has shaken his confidence. "It was a little embarrassed and I felt sheepish after crashing the car during my first run out," said Sanjeev.

"I was just glad not to have done too much damage. The crew have done the necessary repairs and the car is good as new.

"The crew is very professional. They made me feel at ease after my accident and have given me the support and confidence I need to go out
and burn rubber at Sepang this weekend."

He added that although he will only be driving the opening round for Axle, the drive has given him the opportunity to experience what ittakes to get ready for a race weekend.

"There are many things which go on behind the scenes before a race. Ihave now had the privileged to experience this thanks to Axle," said Sanjeev.

"The team, who is managed by Alex Yoong, is very professional and very well run. "I now have a good insight on how teams organise themselves before arace and this will surely help me as a host of a motorsport programme."
